ALEX WARSHAL COHEN
Alex Cohen is the founder and owner of Cohen Properties, LLC, a Seattle-based real estate development and investment company. Alex began investing and managing real estate in 1999 and began ground-up development in 2014. In that time, Cohen Properties has completed 200 units and 4,500 sqft of commercial space in the Fremont, Ballard, Beacon Hill, and Eastlake neighborhoods. Cohen Properties focuses on in-city infill projects, near transit, and amenities in core urban neighborhoods. Cohen Properties’ projects focus on solid concepts, building efficiency, and a high level of design in service of livability and financial performance.
Alex was born and raised in Seattle. Before forming Cohen Properties, Alex worked as an urban planner and environmental consultant in Seattle with Huckel/Weinman Associates (2000 – 2002),
Environmental Science Associates (ESA) (2002 – 2013), and Berk Consulting (2013 – 2014). He specialized in permit acquisition plans, environmental impact assessment, long-range planning, code development, and land use research. Alex was retained by numerous jurisdictions in the Puget Sound region to manage environmental permitting for large utility and energy projects, comprehensive plans, and shoreline plans. Alex also authored and managed numerous state and federal environmental impact processes (SEPA & NEPA) for private and public clients.
Before his environmental consulting career, Alex spent two years as a biologist studying Cooper’s Hawk habitat in Southern California and a year as a statistician for the University of Washington’s Department of Public Health. He was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Washington’s Master of Urban Planning program to participate in the Urban Ecology Lab. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology (1996) and history (1996) from Occidental College, a master’s degree in biology from Occidental College (1998) and a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Washington (2002).

TROY GESSEL
Troy Gessel is the founding principal at AGM Inc, a Bellevue based Pacific Northwest commercial real estate investment team specializing investment brokerage and asset management through the syndication model for institutional, regional, and local high-net-worth individuals.
Troy brings over 36 years of expertise in commercial real estate to Lee & Associates. Prior to joining Lee, Troy was a principal and founding partner at AGM, Inc a Pacific Northwest commercial real estate and investment firm where he created a portfolio of over $500 million in acquired assets and raised over $100 million in equity. Troy started this firm with his partner after successful careers at Colliers Macaulay Nicolls and Pacific Real Estate partners. With a vision to expand their focus, Gessel and his partner acquired Phillips Real Estate, a 40-year-old Pacific Northwest
property management firm. The new partnership launched a combined portfolio of Commercial (AGM commercial portfolio), Multifamily, HOA | Community Association, and Residential assets.
With the association to Lee, Troy has created a partnership which benefits his clients by providing the power and resources of a larger corporation and the personal attention of a smaller firm. Each allowing Troy to better continue his focus on real estate investments through a full-service approach, all combined under the banner of Lee & Associates.

Gessel’s business acumen and passion for commercial real estate are complemented by his close friendships and personal ties with the Eastside community. Gessel and his wife of over 25 years, Elizabeth, have two children, and are active in social and philanthropic circles in both Seattle and Los Angeles.
